Avoriaz is a ski resort decidedly unlike the rest! No cars, but horses, sledges, skis... everything which passes through the village streets must be waxed! The traditional wooden Savoy chalets are accompanied here by contemporary slopes which fit perfectly between cliffs and peaks.

Perched at 1800 m, holidays here are thus taken at great height. One comes to Avoriaz to make discoveries: to listen to jazz (Jazz Up Festival), for eco-friendly skiing (at the Stash, a new generation snowpark developed in collaboration with Burton), to come across the biggest European DJs (Avo Night Parties) or to 'ride' to music (Rock on Snow Park – Ski Festival).

The icing on the cake is that the little ones break out of their shell too! To be convinced, it suffices to take a tour of the children’s village, at the centre of the resort, five hectares of secure slopes specially designed for mini-skiers (undulating slides, mini trails, coloured tracks, small jumps...).

From far away, especially in the summer, it’s difficult to distinguish the buildings on the side of the cliffs of Avoriaz... a successful architectural smoke-screen, as the wood and the rock become one. The residences are pushed into the side of the rock face, with the mountain at the foot of the buildings; Avoriaz is therefore THE perfect site for outdoor holidays.

Hiking, climbing, paragliding, mountain biking... all routes are open to adventurer holidaymakers!  And at the entrance of the village, one of the most spectacular golf courses in France: 9 holes perched at 1600 m above sea level, on 45 hectares of alpine pastures and forests which open out to a view of exceptional beauty, the Aravis range.

And with children, things couldn’t be easier! Entirely pedestrian, Avoriaz in the summer functions like a big holiday resort in the middle of the mountains, in the heart of which all activities are concentrated: the children’s village and its 'adventure' stages from 3 years, the Teen Team, the pool, beach volleyball...
