Torgon

Torgon

A breath-taking view for a small resort perched on the mountainside at 1000 metres above sea level, it’s Torgon! Indeed, from Lake Geneva to the Vaud and Valais Alps, with a glimpse of the Upper Savoy and Mont Blanc, you can make the most of an incredible panorama from this ‘balcony of Chablais’... Just enough to make you long to go further in your exploration of the Portes du Soleil!

Following the example of its cousins and neighbours in the area, Torgon mixes friendliness, tradition and diverse activities: a perfectly balanced cocktail for unforgettable winter sports holidays! Torgon also adds a note of originality which never fails to arouse curiosity: one can climb there, yes, but on the biggest wall in Chablais; you can have breakfast there, yes, but very early in the morning on the slopes, to make the most of the sunrise; you can go on to enjoy a fondue in a mountain chalet, yes, but on a night with a full moon, to see the unique light given off by the reflection of the moon on the snow...

Torgon

If you are patient and discreet, on the heights of Torgon, it’s not impossible to come across a mountain sheep or ... 250! Because the entire colony of this robust animal with a strong character and powerful, curved horns is situated in the Chablais. They make up such an integral part of the area that they have become the mascot of the village under the name of Léon the mountain sheep. At Torgon, he has his forest and his cabin, educational trails around the village dedicated to him, and he has more than 100 friends on Facebook!

With almost as much skill and determination as Léon the mountain sheep, at Torgon mountain bikers tackle cross-country and downhill trails; ponies can follow your tracks during hikes in the mountains; when paragliding, it’s possible to fly over his flock even when it’s clinging to the steepest slopes...

And if you want to leave Léon alone for a bit, why not visit the Ravoire Cave, at Vionnaz, and discover the unique vineyards of the Portes du Soleil? According to Léon, it’s an exceptional vintage!
