Val-d'Illiez - Les Crosets - Champoussin
Three villages in just one commune:
- At 950 metres above sea level, the peaceful village of Val d'Illiez, with its church, its little station and its nineteenth century hotels;
- Nearly 600 metres higher up, the resort of Champoussin with its traditional architecture, created in the ‘80s, offers a magnificent view of the Dents du Midi and has a link with Morgins;
- It’s another hundred metres up to get to Les Crosets, which has a link to Avoriaz and the French part of the Portes du Soleil.
As well as the snow park of Les Crosets, whose reputation is well established, or snowshoeing at Champoussin - which each winter becomes, in a day, the Swiss capital of the practice -, the undeniable advantage of this trio is without doubt 'Thermes Parc'. These mountainous thermal baths and the quality of the water source of Val d'Illiez allows the combination of two joys you wouldn’t immediately associate with each other: skiing and bathing.
The Vallée d'Illiez is irrigated by the Vièze and its many tributaries, which earn it the name of "Valley of the 23 streams", a promising name in terms of hiking and landscape!
In fact, in the summer, the skiing area of Val d'Illiez-Les Crosets-Champoussin, like all of the Portes du Soleil, is turned into kilometres of marked trails for walking and for mountain biking.
But there are a plethora of other activities available to you: via ferrata, high altitude lakes, paragliding, visits to farms, cheese making demonstrations, the Alpine Museum, Adventure Park or Animal Park. Indeed, if the mountain sheep has made its home at Torgon, in Val d'Illiez, it’s the marmot that makes his summer home here.
And in summer, as the rest of the year, the sulphurous thermal water springs up naturally in the pools in Thermes Parc to add a touch of well-being to holidays rich in emotions and experiences.
